| Since January 1999 Grant has been running the Plough & Harrow. Grant is an ageing lothario who is almost pushing 40 (39!) although his lifestyle seems to be modelled on the late actor Errol Flynn.
G man is his nickname, regulars can't work out is the G stands for girls, gambling or grog but if you visit the Plough & Harrow please do not hesitate to introduce yourself.

Pub with a lotta bottle for charity

Grant Hollier presents the bottle to Tony Musgrove
Regulars at the Plough & Harrow, Southdown, Harpenden
are accustomed to putting their small ( and not so small) change into a giant bottle which stands conveniently at the corner of the bar, and is there to attract financial support for local children’s charities and activities.
At a ceremony at the Plough & Harrow, landlord Grant Hollier presented the contents of the bottle totalling over £300.00 to the President of Harpenden Village Rotary Club, Tony Musgrove.
In thanking Grant and his patrons for their generosity, Tony Musgrove said that Harpenden Village Rotary Club would distribute the funds to local deserving causes specifically concerned with children.
April 2006.
